Levin, Fishbein, Sedran & Berman is currently investigating potential risks presented by the dialysis drug GranuFlo. GranuFlo is manufactured by Fresenius and used to provide bicarbonates during dialysis to neutralize acid build-up that occurs during the waste-removal process. GranuFlo is used in Fresenius dialysis clinics worldwide, as well as administered to an estimated 125,000 patients in clinics operated by other providers. GranuFlo is composed of electrolytes and, according to a New York Times article, contains ingredients that the body converts to bicarbonate at higher levels than alternative products. This could result in increased bicarbonate levels. Read our Press Release for more detail.
