Biography:

Laurence S. Berman, a Philadelphia native, focuses his practice in the areas of Admiralty Law, Antitrust, Business Torts, Class Actions, Environmental Liability, Medical Malpractice and Products Liability.

He was admitted to the bar in 1977 and is admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third, Fourth and Seventh Circuits.

A frequent author and lecturer, his published works include "Class Actions in State and Federal Courts," Pennsylvania Bar Institute (Continuing Legal Education), November, 1997; "New Pennsylvania Rule of Civil Procedure 207.1," Pennsylvania Bar Institute (Continuing Legal Education), November, 2001, and membership on the Board of Editors, "Fen-Phen Litigation Strategist," Leader Publications, 1998—. He has also been a frequent speaker for Mealy’s Publications and for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute for its Continuing Legal Education program.

Mr. Berman is a graduate of Temple University (B.B.A., magna cum laude, 1974; J.D., 1977) where he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. He served as Law Clerk to Judge Charles R. Weiner of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania from 1978 to 1980.

He is a member of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations and the American Association for Justice.
